The Indiegogo has launched! Check out the awesome perks you can get for helping to decrease world suck! Like an AMAZING Nerdfighteria coloring & activity book, a gorgeous P4A quilt, tote bags, a Pizza John cross stitch, commentary, part of a thing John’s writing… SO MUCH COOL STUFF. Let’s do it!!
The Project for Awesome officially begins on the 9th, but the Indiegogo launches TONIGHT (or tomorrow depending on where you are in the world—midnight EST). Get ready for some sweet perks!!

The Project for Awesome website is now live! Graphics are available to download! The countdown has begun! GET READY!!
There are STILL AMAZING THINGS TO GET!
$5 - The unreleased first GamesWithHank video. When I shot this, my mic wasn’t working properly so the sound isn’t very good (but totally understandable.) In this virtual reality game, I am tasked with pleasing an Alien with like 18 mouths that I have met in a dive bar. I turn out to be not good at this because, like, I don’t think we have a lot in common.
$5 - Emily Graslie reads “The Man from Snowy River” the Banjo Paterson poem featured on the $10 Australian note.
$5 - The unreleased chapter of Josh Sundquist’s book “We Should Hang Out Sometime” and also get an unreleased video in which Josh explains how he dated his cousin.
$6 - JOHN AND HANK DANCE OFF! - A split screen video in which Hank and John both dance to Taylor Swift’s “Shake-it-Off.” You get to vote on who is the better dancer.
$10 - Hank Green Cover Songs - A digital download of a 12 song cover album from Hank Green. Which songs Hank covers are decided by P4A 2014 donors (all of those perks have already been purchased.
$10 - A PDF Download of the previously unreleased pages of “An Imperial Affliction” a fictional book adored by Hazel Grace Lancaster.
$10 - A full-movie commentary of ‘The Princess Bride’ featuring Hank and Katherine Green discussing one of the best movies of all time. You play it when the movie starts and then, basically, you watch it with us.
All of this and more is available at the Project for Awesome Indiegogo! But NOT FOR VERY MUCH LONGER
this is the first year i’ve actually been able to donate more than time.

P4A 2014
The Project for Awesome begins in a few hours, and on the first day we’re raising money for Save the Children and Partners in Health, organizations that nerdfighteria has worked with a lot over the past eight years.
Donate now at the p4a indiegogo (and get great perks!) and every dollar you donate will be worth $2.50 thanks to matching donations from p4a donors and Save the Children supporters.
Here’s some of the work your donations will help fund:
Mental health initiatives. Mental health is not only a problem in rich countries. PIH works with local organizations to improve mental health diagnosis and treatment from Haiti to Lesotho, and to reduce the stigma too often associated with mental illness.
Ebola care. Ebola remains a massive health crisis in Liberia and Sierra Leone. PIH-funded care teams and health clinics have been fighting the outbreak with very limited resources since before any of us even heard about it. These people recently received Time Magazine’s Person of the Year award, and PIH is one of the leading organizations supporting them.
Cancer and other chronic diseases: 80% people who die from cancer live in the developing world, but only 5% of cancer-related spending goes toward their diagnosis and treatment. PIH works to get better treatment options to the poorest people.
Community health initiatives: Both Save the Children and Partners in Health work to bring better local care—from vaccinations to safe childbirth settings—to rural and poor communities around the world, including the U.S.
Refugees from the conflict in Syria: Save the Children is one of the leading organizations providing assistance, schooling, and nutrition to the millions of refugees from the Syrian civil war.
These are only a few highlights. Both organizations, of course, do much more work around the world, and I am so excited that even before the p4a actually begins, we’ve already raised over $175,000!
Check out the fundraiser and I’ll see you in a couple hours when the 48-hour livestream begins!
The Project for Awesome is officially over. THANK YOU to everyone who commented and voted and shared and made videos. The Indiegogo will remain open for another 62 hours.
